North Valley Art League celebrates a Juried Photography Show every May. This competition, first held in 1989 for Art League members and local residents, expanded to a regional show, from Northern California and Southern Oregon. In 2012 the show was expanded to an international show with both a gallery and online exhibition. The competition’s purpose is to offer photographers an opportunity to exhibit their work and to demonstrate the quality and variety of photography today. With the introduction of digital and computer techniques, photography has opened its doors to new and exciting interpretations that hold their own with traditional photographic processes. Each year’s show is an example of the limitless ingenuity and creativity of the artist.
