Juror’s Statement
What did Andrew look for when choosing the art pieces for the show and then for the awards?
First, I look for technique. All the work submitted showed a high level of technical skills.
When viewing the work in person, I look for how the artist used their materials.
Then I look for something extra, something compelling about the work that makes it stand out – perhaps an intense focus, evidence of the artist’s vision, or a way of seeing that’s different or original.
