North Valley Art League

North Valley Art League is a non-profit organization dedicated to the support of local artists, and the promotion and sale of art in the California North State. The League occupies the historical Carter House on the banks of the Sacramento River in Redding California. Surrounding the Gallery is the Matson, Mowder, Howe Celebration Garden, a native garden that creates a tranquil setting inviting artistic expression in all media.

Founded in 1979 by a group of eight local artists, the Art League now boasts a membership of over 200. The League hosts monthly members’ and featured artist shows, and three annual juried shows. A growing art center and the natural beauty of the region are Redding’s main tourist draws. Visitors will find the best of both worlds within walking distance of each other in Caldwell Park: the North Valley Art League Carter House Gallery, Sacramento River Trail, Turtle Bay Museum and Exploration Park, Botanical Gardens, and the Sundial Bridge, designed and built by renowned Spanish architect, Santiago Calatrava, an artist in his own right.
